What we do not collect
The current version does not collect, upload, or sell your Markdown file contents, file paths, exported documents, device identifiers, or usage analytics.
Siftmd is built around a simple principle: your Markdown documents belong to you. The current version does not require an account, upload your files, or use third-party analytics SDKs.
This page describes data handling for the current Siftmd macOS version.
The current version does not collect, upload, or sell your Markdown file contents, file paths, exported documents, device identifiers, or usage analytics.
Markdown rendering, syntax highlighting, math, diagrams, and export flows run on your Mac. The app reads only documents you authorize through the file picker or the system Open With flow.
Siftmd may store local preferences such as theme, reading mode, and saved prompt templates to improve the next launch experience. This data remains on your device.
If you contact support by email, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, issue description, screenshots, or logs. We use it only to handle your support request.
The current app does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. When distributed through the App Store, Apple may process purchase, download, crash report, or store-related data under its own policies.
If cloud sync, accounts, AI services, or analytics are added in the future, this page will be updated before release to explain the new data use.
